What is the BioInvestor Program?

The Galician Life Sciences Technological and Business Cluster (BIOGA) and Xunta de Galicia present the 12th edition of the BioInvestor Program, an initiative aimed at promoting access to private funding for projects and companies in strategic sub-sectors within the Life Sciences, such as biotechnology, bioresources, health, and sustainability. This training and mentoring programme is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the necessary tools to secure funding and negotiate with investors, supporting the growth of technology-driven projects.

This programme is aimed at:

Researchers and entrepreneurs in Life Sciences sector (biotechnology, agri-food, forestry and wood, and health and care).

Companies seeking funding for their projects.

Sectors of Activity

If you are a project or company operating in any of the strategic sub-sectors of the Life Sciences (agri-food, biotechnology, forestry and wood, and health and care), we encourage you to apply for the programme.

BioInvestor Academy

Phase I: Training and Mentoring 

  1. Personalised assessment for each project.
  2. Training seminars tailored to participents’ needs.
  3. One-to-one mentoring to guide project development.

Phase II: Project/Company Evaluation

Projects selected in this phase will be able to participate in phase III.

Phase III: Elevator Pitch

Projects selected in Phase II will participate in a training and coaching session focused on preparing their presentationfor  May BioInvestor Days, taking place on  6-7 May 2026 as part of Galicia BioDays 2026.

Seminars

8 hours of online training and 3 hours of in-person training! March and April 2026.

Session I: How to present an irresistible investment opportunity to investors? (2 hours)

Date: 17 March 2026, 9:00-11:00 (online)

The investor opportunity will be defined through:

    • Problem
    • Market
    • Solution
    • Competition

Session II: How to develop a solid and convincing execution plan to attract investors? (2 hours)

Date: 24 March 2026, 9:00-11:00

The execution plan will define:

  • Revenue model
  • Scaling strategy
  • Team

Session III: How to demonstrate strong go-to-market capability for driving an entrepreneurial project? (2 hours)

Date: 7 April 2026, 9:00-11:00 (online)

Go-to-market capability will define:

  • The team
  • Traction

Session IV: How to show an attractive return for investors in an entrepreneurial project? (2 hours)

Date: 14 April 2026, 9:00-11:00 (online)

The return will be defined by:

  • Investment objective
  • Exit strategy

Session V: Rehearsal and personalised mentorting (3 hours) – in-person 

Date: 21 April 2026, 9:00-12:00

Before BioInvestor Days, participants will attend a 3-hour in-person session to practice and refine their investor decks. 

Mentoring

Up to 4 hours of mentoring and personalised guidance for project promoters, designed to prepare their projects for funding.

BioInvestor Days

6-7 May 2026

Selected projects and companies will have the oportunity to participate in Galicia’s main Life Sciences investment forum, taking place on 6-7 May 2026 as part of the Galicia BioDays 2026

During this event, participants will have the chance to connect with a network of investors including:

  • Leading national venture capital firms and investment platforms
  • Business Angels and Family Offices
  • Large corporations and industrial companies
  • Banks and financial institutions
  • Public investment entities
